100 Points : Hurricanes Clinch Playoffs with 2-1 Victory over EX-Champs

I love the Coach.

“Obviously, the goal is to win the Stanley Cup,” coach Peter Laviolette said. “But there’s a road that you have to go down to get there, and there’s 82 games on it. You have to play all of them, and if you have to play them, you might as well win them.” Nuff said.

I also loved when Brindy Shoved Sarich in the face for shooting on Gerber after the whistle. Even if the ref called a penalty that led a 5 on 3. You gotta protect the goalie.
“Center Doug Weight and defensemen Bret Hedican and Niclas Wallin sat out for the third straight game with lower-body injuries, leaving the Hurricanes with 226 games lost to injuries. But with Recchi finally tallying a point, they had enough to improve to 3-3 against Tampa Bay this season. ”

This is the year there is not a team out there as good as the Carolina Hurricanes even with the injuries including the cheap shot on Cole, the Hurricanes have remained one of the TOP teams in the eastern Conference.
Last night RECCHI scored what I hope is the first of many in this year. Nothing bad will come of him starting to feel comfortable in North Carolina.

Of note Stillman now has 499 Career Points.
