Go Canes Stanley Cup Is on the way.

It will look just like this at the end of the game. Only the Jerseys will be Home RED.
Sabres are done… stick a ….knife no wait a sword in them.
Hats off to Buffalo Owners. I mean it I wish your way of treating the most loyal fans was shared by the owners here in Raleigh North Carolina home of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Too bad the ownership of the Carolina Hurricanes couldnt be as smart as the Buffalo Ownership. CHeck out this article about ticket sales and pricing in Buffalo. Now that is an organization that knows how to get people behind them.
“Quinn’s plan: radically slash prices for season-ticket holders and variably price all other tickets for different games. The Sabres also maintained the discounts for season-ticket holders in the first two rounds of the playoffs this year, with a slight increase in prices for the Eastern Conference finals that’s in stark contrast to the hefty price raise made by the Hurricanes that stunned and angered some of their fans.
For example, season-ticket holders pay $17 for seats in the 300 Level III in the upper deck at HSBC Arena during the regular season. For the Eastern Conference finals, the average price is $20 per ticket.” WOW! Those Seats are around $60 Each here for season ticket holders and 70+ at the gate. That is one way to inflate Raleigh Real Estate
Once again its says “Thank you Fans” on the Ice In Raleigh, translate that to F U fans.
I have to say up until this game I was concernce about this series, Buffalo seemed like an even match for the Hurricanes and I figured this series would be a long one, but after tonights Performance by the Carolina Hurricanes and their total beating of the Sabres well Lets just Call it now.
Like the Canadiens Its over
Like the Devils Sabres are done.
Stanley Cup here we come.
Have the Sabres even shot on goal? Maybe once.
As I said the Hurricanes had a game to figure out the overrated sabres. Hurricanes Ahead 3-1, this game has been all Hurricanes so far.
The Sabres are going to be just another team with a great goaltender that doesn’t look so great after the Carolina Hurricanes pepper solve him, and Buffalo will once again go home without a chance at the Cup. Too bad.
WOW, I am definately someone that understands talking trash about opposing teams. That is just good fun. Today I saw an article by Bucky Gleason at buffnews.com. From now on I will refer to him as “Bucky the Buffalo Baby”. Bucky Buffalo Baby wrote an article which he thinks describes why Buffolo deserves the Stanley Cup and Carolina does not… When I read the article I felt sorry for the Buffalo Baby. He goes on and on about how Buffalo fans deserve a title cuz they have *whimper* never had any real title in Buffalo and *whimper* in North Carolina we have the ACC and Basketball Championships and blah blah blah….
Bucky sounds like a BABY. I wonder after reading his article later if the Buffalo Baby realized how pathetic he sounded.
Of course he makes fun of Carolina Hurricanes Fans… who hasn’t done that in the last 4 years? Buffalo Baby I hate to tell you but that is just old … I for one can tell you a Greensboro moment… ( I and many others had season tickets then) How about the Playoff Series, yes in Greensboro against the Boston Bruins that we lost.
Buffalo Baby’s article would have been better if he had just stuck to some manly trash talking, instead he jumps on the “make fun of the Carolina Hurricanes Fans” bandwagon, and then whines like girl. Sad.
The one valid point he did make was about the tickets not selling out here. That has to do with the poor managment of the Hurricanes gouging the ticket prices and many fans including myself reacting negatively to increased prices… it sucks because I doubt many people are as big a Hurricanes fan as me but even I didn’t purchase my 3rd and 4th round playoff ticket strips due the horrible way the Hurrricanes Management handled Pricing by increasing pricing without notice by 250%.
Sounds like you could use a change in scenery. Feel Free to move here to be with happy people, sunshine and the Best Hockey Team in the NHL.
Go Canes.
Devils Sent Packing 4-1, as the Hurricanes finished the series up at home despite more poor officiating… including 5 penalties in the 1st period against the Caroline Hurricanes and 0 against the New Jersey Devils.
Great Game for the team. Cam Ward and Special Teams kept the game at even in the 1st and that was a tough job since the penalites were ALL called against Carolina.
More Later.
Go Canes!
When asked about it Bettman (NHL commissioner) said ” We can’t have some team from… what is it North Carolina sweeping one of the staples of NHL Hockey like the Devils” Wow. “I was just doing what I was told” said one Ref.
Brodeur apparently not only whined like a little baby to the media after getting stomped on by the Hurricanes in the first 3 games, apparently he put some pressure on NHL managment. It sure worked for baby marty.
Well based on the number of penalties called on the Hurricanes He got his point accross. Link to the boxscore Take a look at Period 2… wow it can be pretty difficult to play when you are down a man almost half the game. I know there were some legit calls but I saw more than a few questionable ones, there was one point where it was 7 in a row against Carolina… OK. I know there is some strategy to calling penalties but that is riduclous….
Now I have to go to a game on Mother’s Day and watch the Hurricanes Take the Series at home which is great but.. since the Canes Management Jacked up the prices so much for round 3 and 4. It could be my last game this year. Bittersweet.
Go Canes!
Oh and just in case you didn’t figure it out the 1st part is fiction. ![]()
The Sign on the Ice at the RBC Center says ” Thanks you Fans” maybe it should say something else now…..It looks as if they are thanking us by Jacking up the Prices 250%…
Is that how any business “thanks” its customers?
Business owners out there do you “thank” your best customers by increasing their prices 250%? by Jacking up the prices of your most loyal customers 2.5 times what they are used to paying? I doubt you would have many customers… well that is exactly what the Carolina Hurricanes management has done…
I have to admit I came home friday to find my “bill” for the potential 3rd and 4th round of the playoffs, and I was pretty upset. I felt betrayed, let down by the team that I have been supporting heavily since they moved to this area… I had season tix and Greensboro, and rode the bus and drove to those games,…I had season tix in raleigh every year but 1 ( company had tickets then) and bought a pack the other year and playoff tix this year.. and now this is the way they repay my continued support … support through a year of striking… I am not happy and I know I am not alone.
Let me layout the situation.
1 and 2 round tickets. Upper Level Corners… Almost the Cheapest in the arena. $400 for the first 2 rounds. Not bad.
Now I knew the price would go up but wow….
3r and 4th round price for same tickets… $1,050.00
Anyone that knows me knows I love this team but this increase will probably force me to watch the games on TV and maybe if I am lucky scalp a game or 2.
I know that fans that have tickets in the lower level are feeling it even worse..
I read all the commentary and as expected the Management pulled out the “our prices are competitive with other markets” excuse….
Translation: ” We want the fans of other teams in those seats because they will pay those prices”
This comes right on the heels of an interview with Peter Karmonos talking about how the teams is going to be profitable… how about rewarding the loyal fans Peter instead of XXXXing us like this.
